Nigella Oil and Calm

Nigella oil, extracted from the seeds of the nigella flower (Japanese name: nioi kurotanesou), which blooms delicately from April to July, is a very valuable and excellent oil. Its formal name is black cumin seed oil or nigella sativa seed oil, due to its resemblance to the spice cumin.

In Morocco, it is said that long ago, the Prophet Muhammad stated, "This oil cures all diseases except death," and it has been used as a good medicine in various folk remedies, including oral consumption, topical application, and inhalation.

When I first started visiting Morocco, a friend handed me some, and my initial strong impression was its unique, heavy scent. I remember wondering if I would ever get used to this scent, no matter how effective it might be. However, as I continued to use it for minor scrapes on my fingers or cracks at the corner of my lips, I gradually began to feel its effect in gently suppressing inflammation.

Amidst this, I heard that a dear friend was suffering greatly from atopic dermatitis, which showed no improvement despite hospital visits. It was with a prayerful heart that I handed them a balm made with nigella oil (anti-inflammatory effect), beeswax (natural wrap), argan oil (moisturizing component), wild lavender (scent adjustment), and shea butter (antioxidant effect). This became the impetus for the birth of the balm named Calm.

Through repeated trial and error, we refined the formulation and were so particular about all the ingredients that the balm became soft enough to melt. Please do make use of such a Balm Calm, filled with our passionate dedication.
